The default domain functional level is Windows 2000 mixed. Additional Active Directory features

become available when the domain functional level is raised to Windows 2000 native, Windows

Server 2003 interim, or Windows Server 2003. Use the Active Directory Users and Computers

snap-in to adjust or determine the domain functional level as Figures 23 and 24 show.

Forest functionality enables features across all the domains in a forest. There are three forest

functional levels:

• Windows 2000
